Membership
How To Join

Only a chosen few can enjoy the privileges of Pi Gamma Mu's lifetime membership. Membership is by invitation only. Juniors, seniors and graduate students become eligible for membership when they meet the following criteria:


A. Junior Undergraduate Level

  • Regular junior as of First Semester AY 2004-205
  • Weighted average of “1.45” or better as of First Semester 2004-2005
  • Must have completed 21 units of social sciences courses
  • Not a transferee from other universities
  • Should not have any disciplinary record
  • No grades of “4.0” or “5.0” and NO “incomplete” at the time of nomination

B. Senior Undergraduate Level

  • Honor graduates as of Summer 2004; First Semester, 2004-2005 and graduating with Honors for Second Semester 2004-2005
  • Weighted average of “1.75” or better as of First Semester 2004-2005
  • Must have completed 21 units of social sciences courses
  • NOT a transferee from the other universities
  • Should not have any disciplinary record
  • NO grades “4.0” or “5.0” and NO “incomplete” at the time of nomination

C. Nominees at the Graduate Level

  • Graduates as of Summer 2004; First Semester,2004-2005 and graduating for Second Semester 2004-2005
  • Weighted average of “1.25” or better (please attach true copy of grades)
  • Must have completed 21 units of social sciences courses
  • Should not have any disciplinary record
  • NO grades of “5.0”, “incomplete” and dropped subjects
  • Must have completed all the academic requirements within the allowable time limit (NOT on maximum residence status)

Chapters may choose to assess a chapter initiation fee in addition to the $30 international membership fee. This enables chapters to carry on activities on their campuses to implement the goals of the Society as well as cover the operational needs of the chapter.
